Ifunanyachukwu Paula Esowune was born in 2009. She is fondly
called “Funanya” by her family and Paula by her teachers and friends. She moved to Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada from Houston Texas, USA with her family in 2016.
Ifunanyachukwu’s love for writing, reading and drawing began quite early in her life. As a toddler, she would scribble on any surface that looked like paper or drawing material. She started reading quite early in life, and her grade 2 teacher once said this about her: “While other students are learning to read, Paula is reading to learn.”
Ifunanyachukwu has been honored as an all-A’s Honor Roll student
and received the President’s Award for Educational Excellence in
recognition of her outstanding academic excellence in 2016, signed by former US President Barack Obama and the Acting U.S.
Secretary of Education at that time. She has also won several academic awards in Canada.
Ifunanyachukwu is loved by all of her teachers, and everyone who encounters her. She dreams of becoming an immunologist, and perhaps a graphic designer to follow her love for drawing and illustrations.
